About this deal

It amazes me that someone can have so many experiences that should show their own hypocrisy yet they still fail to realize it.

With its compelling storytelling, raw emotions, and unflinching accounts of sacrifice and bravery, this book has far surpassed my expectations, leaving a lasting impact on my perspective. Taya wasn’t happy about her husband’s decision to go back; she tried to understand him, but it hurt her to realize that she and their two children were not the number one on the list of his priorities. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Clint saw "Dirty Harry" and "The Man With No Name" of the Sergio Leone westerns personified in Kyle. Chris was a wonderful man, a family man, a good author, one who had served his country to the best of his ability. He was a man who had a job to do and did it well and took justifiable pride in it--even if you don't understand that or agree with the Iraq War.The way this is written, I felt like I was in Chris's head or walking beside him as he explained things and showed us what he and his platoon and all of them went through. And now you want to come home and be part of this family and make the rules: No sir, because you're leaving in another month to go back on training.

I wanted to like it because I'm ex military and I live in Texas but about half way through I put the book away for good.

Most of all, I've walked away from this book with a sense of gratefulness that I can be sitting here behind my computer with my dog writing a commentary on a warrior's story while my family is safely at work and school. The themes which are repeated again and again - his addiction to video games, the comic book heroes he tries to emulate, his simple pleasure at shooting a human being - presents the picture of a kid who have never really grown up. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I agree he was disrespectful and arrogant - but he has been sent over to kill hundreds of "the enemy. I have read several books on the war and American Sniper provided an unparalleled picture of snipers’ roles during the campaigns in Fallujah and Ramadi and how they supported other military units.

This article explores the individual, situational, and system roles influencing the 2011 incident in which a small unit of US Marine scout snipers urinated on three Taliban corpses. So it was fascinating to get this look at someone who made war and soldiering the crux of their existence. I don’t claim any personal knowledge of the situation over there, I only know what I read, and this is the impression that I got.The book gave a much more in-depth look at Chris' time on deployments and being of military background that was more of what I wanted to know about. S. Military History" is a gripping and powerful autobiography that provides a profound insight into the life of an American hero. Book was confronting and I did not like the guy that much as he was war monger ,but the book was very descriptive not quite sure if it was all true .

The abhorrent ignorances only continue throughout the book, and he adds to the loveliness by constantly reminding the reader how much he enjoys killing. Not as big a page turner as his buddy Marcus Lutrell's book "Lone Survivor," "American Sniper" nonetheless deserves its own honored place in the realms of recent war literature. Chris Kyle sees the world in black and white: American is good, Texan is excellent, non-American is not-so-good, and Arab is bad. Kyle's beliefs, opinions, or attitudes, I'd hoped that the saving grace of the book would be the content of the stories. He seemed a bit like an arrogant, opinionated Texan and his presentation was almost one dimensional.

Kyle seems to have no qualms admitting to the less glamorous sides of war, including the bureaucracy surrounding everything a soldier does.
